Take your mountain bike skills to the next level under instruction from one of the UK’s leading team of professional mountain bike skills coaches. Perfected over 10 years these skills courses combine great mountain bike rides with a skills development programme that will see your riding take huge leaps forward in just one weekend.
Course highlights:
- Progressive instruction moves you on quickly and confidently
- Small groups for good learning
- Superb Lake District terrain
- Combine skills development with breathtaking mountain rides
The skills development programme is broken down into three courses – select which works for you or call us to discuss the options:
Core Skills (level 1)
This course teaches you the right core skills to get the most out of mountain biking - ideal for complete novices or those who are currently riding easier trails and want to progress to more technical terrain. You’ll learn the right body position for riding on descents and technical climbs, how to control your speed, handle corners, pick lines, control direction and vision, and blaze through difficult terrain. The aim is to make you a confident and safe biker, equipped to head out into the hills and really have some fun.
Trials to Trails (level 2)
To progress as a mountain biker you need balance, control and the ability to move yourself and your bike around with confidence. This is where trials skills come in – as you learn the trackstand, power assited front wheel lift, manual, endo, rear wheel lift and bunny hop. These are the skills which will let you ride drop-offs, climb over step-ups, clear obstacles and balance in situations where you’d expect to tumble. By building the coaching into days out in the mountains you don’t just learn the techniques, you apply them in a whole range of trail situations.
Mountain Rider (level 3)
This highly flexible course gets every rider testing their limits in a wide range of trail situations. We build the coaching sessions into full days out in the mountains and work on all aspects of bike control at high and low speed. If there are key areas you need to work on just let us know – our aim is to cover everything from steep terrain, rocks, drops and highly technical descending to high speed corners or riding up steep and loose climbs. Be prepared to push yourself, then enjoy the rewards.
Private Tuition (any level)
Private coaching can have a huge impact on your biking in a very short space of time. We offer this service throughout the year to small groups and individuals who want to really focus in on their biking skills. Click here to visit the private tuition page.
